Changelog
What's new
New features, improvements, and fixes in Abstria.
Mobile navigation and installing Abstria as an app
Added- Abstria can now be added to your home screen and opened full screen, like a native app. Install it from the General tab in Settings; the home screen icon also offers shortcuts straight into Today and Inbox
- Added a bottom navigation bar on mobile, so Inbox, Today, Upcoming, and Mandala are one tap away
- The public API can now create MAPs and WAPs: add a MAP under an existing YAP, or a WAP under an existing MAP
Improved- Improved how the app fits the edges of the screen on iPhone: the mobile top bar, task detail panels, and the cookie notice now stay clear of the notch and the home indicator
Fixed- Fixed the mobile top bar being pushed up behind the status bar when the page was scrolled
Consistent controls and fresher data in Lists
Improved- The sort control in Inbox and the picker in the WAP inline edit form now use the app's own dropdown, so they look and behave the same as everywhere else instead of falling back to the browser's native menu
- Tooltips in Lists now use the app's own styling and show up right away, instead of the browser's delayed native bubble
- The contact page loads lighter: the spam-protection widget is fetched only once it is actually needed
Fixed- Reordering MAPs or WAPs in Lists right after adding or editing one no longer rolls back that new item or edit
- Lists no longer keeps showing stale data after you change something in another view: it pulls the latest state, and waits until your own saves have finished so nothing you are typing is lost
- The sort options in Lists and the expand/collapse toggle on descriptions now follow your language setting instead of always showing English
Clearer sorting and safer saves in Lists
Improved- Sort menus in Lists now name what they sort: the trigger reads "MAP: Manual" and the dropdown carries a "Sort MAPs" heading, so identical-looking menus no longer have to be told apart by position
Fixed- The filter control, the level tab sublabels, and the "Grouped" toggle in the Lists toolbar now follow your language setting instead of always showing English
- A failed drag-to-reorder, or a failed save while editing a YAP, WAP, or DAP in Lists, no longer passes silently: you get a message about what failed, and the order is restored to its previous state
- Adding a WAP and a DAP one after another on a MAP card no longer makes the first one disappear, and adding a DAP right after editing the MAP no longer reverts that edit
- Dragging a DAP in the tree view no longer switches an unrelated YAP, MAP, or WAP list to manual order
- Published dates on blog posts and docs no longer show a day early for readers in the Americas and other zones behind UTC
Lists fixes and a smoother Mandala
Improved- Reworked Mandala tooltips so long titles are readable instead of being cut off
- The 12×12 Mandala view now renders more efficiently, so cells respond faster when you interact with them
Fixed- Sorting in the flat Lists view now does what you pick: "Title (A-Z)" really sorts by title, and a manual order is kept across different scheduled dates — matching the tree view
- Adding, editing, or unlinking several DAPs in a row on a MAP card no longer undoes the previous change, and a partly failed add no longer discards the DAPs that were added successfully
- Adding a MAP inline in Lists no longer preselects a YAP that isn't offered in the list, which made saving fail every time
- Changing a DAP's scheduled date no longer keeps the new date on screen when the save fails, and parent WAP, MAP, and YAP statuses are now recalculated afterwards
- On daylight saving time changeover days, date chips in the DAP add form and the WAP date range no longer duplicate a day or drop the last one
- Picking a start month while editing a YAP or MAP no longer closes the form, so the month can actually be changed
DAP endpoints in the public API and steadier Lists
Added- The public API can now work with DAPs directly: create, list, update, and delete DAPs under an existing WAP
Fixed- Requests authenticated with an API key (Bearer token) no longer fail with a 401, so external tools can reach the export API and the rest of the v1 endpoints again
- Connecting Google Calendar no longer leaves an unused calendar behind in your Google account when the connection fails partway through
- In Lists, a failed delete, status or priority change, or DAP move no longer looks like it succeeded — you now get a message explaining what failed, and the view returns to its previous state
- Reordering DAPs inside a WAP in Lists is now saved, and dragging that ends on an invalid spot no longer misplaces the item
Google Calendar sync and Review refinements
